Why is it intercepted by antivirus software?
Because File Hider Pro's protection mechanism is very powerful, it moves your files at high speed at the bottom of the system in milliseconds and writes them to system-level hidden folders. This "high-speed hiding" behavior is easily misjudged by antivirus software on the market (such as Windows Defender, Norton, McAfee, etc.) as suspicious behavior or even a virus.
â Strongly Required: Add to Whitelist
To ensure your private files are not interrupted, locked or deleted by antivirus software during the process of hiding or restoring, please be sure to add this program (FileHiderPro.exe) or its installation folder to the "Exclusions" or "Whitelist" of the antivirus software before the first execution.
1. Basic Protection & Settings (Upper Interface)
The software runs in "resident background" mode by default. When you click "X" in the upper right corner, the software will shrink to the system background to continue protecting your files.
Wake-up Shortcut
Purpose: When the software is hidden in the background, press this shortcut to instantly call up the main window.
Setting: Click the text box and directly press your desired key combination (e.g., Alt + H).
Auto-disable hidden files display
Purpose: When checked, the software will force-lock Windows system settings to prevent others from peeking at your data via "Show hidden files" in Explorer.
Start with system
Purpose: Let the software start silently in the background when the computer boots up for seamless privacy protection.
Idle Auto-Lock
Purpose: Automatically "Hide All" after a period of inactivity (e.g., 5 mins) to prevent leaks when you are away.
2. Group Management (Middle Interface)
You can categorize different types of files (e.g., secrets, photos, financial reports) into different "Groups" for separate management.
īŧ Add Group
Create a new protection category. (Standard supports 2 groups, Pro unlocks unlimited).
đĄ Delete Group: To remove a group, just "Double Click" on the group's Tab.
īŧ Add File / Folder
Add targets to the list. You can also directly Drag & Drop files into the list area.
đĄ Single restore/remove: "Double Click" an item in the list to restore it individually and remove it from protection.
Group Shortcuts
Purpose: Allows you to instantly hide or show a group's files using shortcuts on any screen without opening the software.
Group Password
Purpose: Add a second layer of lock to a specific group. A password prompt will appear when trying to unhide via shortcut.
3. Master Password & Global Actions (Lower Interface)
Master Password
Purpose: The highest authority lock. Required to wake app or click "Unhide All".
đĄ Forgot password? Registered users can click "Forgot Password" to reset using their License Key.
Unhide All
Restore all files from all groups in the list to their original locations.
Hide All
Emergency button! Instantly hide all files in the list with one click.
Browse Safe
Purpose: Quickly view hidden files by opening a secure system folder without restoring them to the desktop.
4. License & Version (âšī¸ About & Register)
Click the "âšī¸" button in the upper right corner to check license status:
- Trial: 14-day free trial with basic features.
- Upgrade to Pro: Enter License Key to activate. Use "Deactivate" to transfer to another PC.
